Dear applicants,

We are delighted by your interest in joining the opening committee of the Opera Ball 2026!

You’ll find all key information about the requirements, costs, and dress code for the Opera Ball opening on our Debutante Information page.

The Opera Ball will take place on February 12, 2026, with the dress rehearsal on February 11, 2026.
The additional rehearsal dates are: January 25 & 31 and February 1 (for participants from the greater Vienna area: Vienna, Lower Austria, Burgenland, as well as cities like Linz, Wels, etc.) and February 7 & 8 (for all participants).
Please note that attendance at your assigned rehearsals is mandatory.

Audition

Dance couples from Vienna, Lower Austria, and Burgenland, as well as from areas within approximately a two-hour drive of Vienna, will be invited to audition at the Vienna State Opera on Saturday, October 11, 2025, after all applications have been reviewed.

Couples from other Austrian provinces or from abroad are of course welcome to travel to Vienna for the audition and demonstrate their skills in person.
Alternatively, you may submit a compelling video showcasing your left waltz proficiency.

We would like to attend the audition on October 11, 2025, at the Vienna State Opera. *

The exact time will be announced in due course, please keep the entire day free.

All applicants will be informed via email by the end of December 2025 whether they have been accepted into the opening committee of the Vienna Opera Ball 2026.

Please understand that we reserve the right to remove couples from the opening committee during rehearsals, even after receiving a prior acceptance, if the required dance proficiency (very good command of the left waltz) is not demonstrated.
